Inner strength and resilience

Recently, I had the great privilege of interviewing Yosef Mendelevitch, a refusenik in the former USSR, who put his life on the line for Torah, mitzvos and the right to live in Eretz Yisrael.

inner-strength-resilience.pngIn a time when we need resilience more than ever, when our right to exist as a nation is constantly being called into question, I found speaking to Yosef extremely strengthening, as it shows the heights of inner strength a person is capable of reaching under duress.

I was amazed to discover how Yosef was able to keep Shabbos in a Soviet work camp despite all the odds.

I hope that you will gain strength as well from Yosef's inspiring commitment to Hashem.

This interview is part of a new series called Jewish Heroes, in which we will unveil the extraordinary stories of fascinating modern-day Jewish trailblazers, whether it's building an empire of Torah learning or standing rock solid against ruthless regimes.  We will learn about individuals who went above and beyond for one purpose - to sanctify Hashem's name in this world.

Get ready to be inspired and enlightened in this exploration of triumphs, challenges, and the enduring legacy of Jewish greatness.
